Information Technology is the department that is responsible for the Firm’s computer and telephone systems. The Enterprise Telecommunications Engineer IV is responsible for Enterprise Telecom Planning, Design, and Delivery under the direction of the Senior Manager of Enterprise Infrastructure. The Enterprise Telecommunications Engineer IV is also responsible for researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering enterprise telecom services that are appropriate for the business and technology strategies of the firm. This individual facilitates enterprise-level telecom transformations (e.g., Site Upgrades, Disaster Recovery, Emergency Broadcasting, etc.). The job is an advanced professional level role and this individual will be the telecom expert for the firm on projects that may span a broad range of systems and enterprise-wide complex components. Working with Senior Management across the CIO organization, this individual will provide highly-valued strategic consulting level support and guidance through key IT telecom project initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:
Determines how existing telecom systems, legacy digital systems, network communications infrastructure, voice servers, etc., which may be currently operating on multiple platforms, work together to meet the new and emerging enterprise requirements.
Leads component and systems architecture design, systems hardware and software product evaluation and outsourcing versus on premise recommendations.
Leads systems hardware and operating systems upgrades and integration strategy meetings, telecom systems upgrade decision meetings, and telecom systems capacity-planning strategy sessions as it relates to new hardware and network infrastructure upgrades and integration, and new systems design.
Leads the migration to new systems integration technologies, evaluates processing performance relating to systems utilization and reliability, and forecasts financial, physical, and human resource needs to meet established systems upgrades and integration objectives.
Works on major projects providing subject matter expertise and technical direction to more junior technical staff. Develops and maintains standards and criteria for design, acquisition, development, integration and implementation of telecom systems and tools; working with IT executive management on identifying telecom needs and solutions; serving as an overall Firm resource in the Enterprise telecom operational and implementation process.
Works with the Senior Manager of Enterprise Infrastructure and Director of Technology Services to gather operational requirements, performs systems telecom analysis, and participates in the trial of selected solutions to ensure successful and seamless communication among the various IT systems and applications components.
Develops methods to efficiently reuse existing systems components.
Researches alternatives, evaluates and presents recommendations for telecom systems upgrades and integration solutions.
Develops effective project turnover documentation and process change(s) to ensure a smooth transition to the Enterprise Applications & Help Desk team.
Identifies problems with systems upgrades and integration procedures and works with the Technology Services department to determine solutions to be implemented by the team.
Maintain current knowledge of hardware and software changes, and plan for changes in response to dynamic business needs. Continue to develop skills, knowledge and ability to improve processes and procedures as well as to keep updated on trends and developments in the industry. This includes meeting annual personal development goals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Possesses skills and in-depth knowledge of telecom systems methodologies and processes across multiple technical environments at an expert/lead technical level. Ability to define telecom architectures and design for the enterprise. Ability to work on multiple projects as a technical project leader or as the subject matter expert. Ability to work on projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Knowledge of technological trends and developments in the area of telecom systems. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Must have strong technical skills in one or more of the following areas:
Avaya Voice Over IP (VoIP) systems
Voice and Data Convergence Technologies
Modular Messaging / Unified Communications

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of systems telecom work experience with managing multiple, cross-functional projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders. Possess experience, skills and knowledge of enterprise telecom systems methodologies and processes.
Certifications in Microsoft, Cisco, Avaya, etc. products or virtualization technologies, data and information management, security management, project management, etc. is a plus.
