A well-regarded mid-sized law firm based suburban Philadelphia has an excellent position available for an IT Manager.
This position plans, directs and manages the IT Department to ensure the development and implementation of cost-effective systems and efficient/secure computer operations to meet current and future business needs. Manages and leads professional staff and a number of consultants.
Responsible for the overall planning, organizing and execution of all IT functions for the Firm. This includes providing support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technology solutions.
Creates project plans to detail the steps required to implement technology initiatives including developing project schedules to determine appropriate resources and ensure timely delivery. Participates in all aspects of project deployment including product research, vendor interviewing and contracting and IT testing.
Provides firm-wide direction and support in areas of policy and planning for network administration and help desk.
Advises Firm leadership on planning, development, implementations and maintenance procedures.
Establishes IT policies, standards, practices and security measures. Ensures they are documented, effective, consistent and repeatable. Ensures system administration policies are compliant with audit, security and other governance principles. Develops an environment with robust processes and controls.
Monitors, manages and maintains connectivity of all network resources including servers, desktops, laptops, telephony equipment, and other network appliances. Plans and schedules installation of hardware upgrades, software updates and upgrades and installation of new products. Procures equipment when needed.
Oversee administration of applications which may include, but are not limited to, TABS, MS Office, Autonomy Document Management System and Records System, Estates Software, MS Exchange, ESI, Phone System, SQL and other internal applications.
Responsible for IT support for all users directly or through IT staff. Ensures users are provided with professional, courteous and timely support and service.
Maintains iPhone and iPad usage information, unit assignments and assists with training and trouble shooting.
Supports FileSite activity for the Firm including implementation, maintenance and training.
Supports and provides guidance for Records Management policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required with post-graduate or additional training/certification preferred.
10 years or more of computer systems and IT experience with at least four years of experience at the management level. Law firm experience preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of the information technology industry (i.e. developments in systems and hardware, evolving technology, services, etc.), along with a thorough understanding of technical details.
Solid understanding of virtualization concepts along with the ability to support day-to-day VMware/HyperV Application tasks and issues.
Experience working with TABS financial management software or other financial data systems preferred.
Experience working within a professional services environment preferred. Client service orientation is paramount.
Experience implementing, operating and maintaining all aspects of mobile technology (video conferencing, teleconferencing, PDAs, etc.).
Great people skills with the ability to communicate and build strong relationships with colleagues, direct-reports, supervisors and outside consultants.
