Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A., an AV-rated law firm in downtown Orlando, is seeking an innovative and experienced CIO/Director of Information Technology. The chosen candidate will provide leadership to drive the firm’s strategic vision for the firm’s technology. On a day-to-day basis, the incumbent will take an active and a hands-on approach in managing the firm’s IT operations, data governance function, disaster recovery/continuity function, IT training, and records (paper) management functions. The firm’s Information Technology and Records Departments consists of thirteen people.
This is a highly visible position directly reporting to the firm’s Chief Operating Officer, but is matrixed with the firm’s Technology Committee and other key leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work with the firm’s Technology Committee to establish or further strategic goals, direction, and priorities.
Demonstrate effective and timely communication skills to convey and promote technology goals consistent with the firm’s strategic planning.
Maintain awareness of emerging technology (general and legal) which could be advantageous to the firm. Assess the needs of the firm and its current resources. Research products and systems to recommend best solutions.
Develop, recommend, and implement the budget for the Information Technology Department. Draft and present requests for unbudgeted equipment, positions, and other funding.
Develop, recommend and implement written technology policies and procedures.
Maintain an updated comprehensive Written Information Security Plan (WISP).
Maintain an updated comprehensive written business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
Oversee the firm’s systems and applications, monitor effectiveness, assure a good user experience, determine the requirement for enhancements or modifications, and investigate and identify systems and the related costs and implications to the firm.
Coordinate the integration of office operations and information systems.
Oversee the firm’s IT training function.
Interview, select, hire, assign and oversee Information Technology Department staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
15+ years of related work experience with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
Legal or other professional services industry experience is preferred.
Relevant industry certifications beneficial.
Information security credentials a plus.
Must be knowledgeable and or have experience with the following cloud technologies:
o Office 365
o Azure AD
o AWS
o Citrix Cloud
o Cloud-based phone systems
