Associate Attorney – Sioux City, IA
Smith Pauley LLP is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join our Sioux City, Iowa office. We are looking for an attorney with experience in family law, litigation, or real estate/transactional law to support our growing practice.
Who We Are Looking For
We prefer candidates with some prior experience in their respective practice areas who can confidently handle client interactions and case management. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong analytical and advocacy skills, excellent writing ability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
For Real Estate/Transactional Attorneys:
Review abstracts and issue title opinions
Draft and negotiate contracts, deeds, and other real estate documents
Advise clients on business and real estate transactions
Assist with entity formation and general corporate work
Conduct due diligence and provide strategic guidance on real estate and business matters
Collaborate with clients and colleagues to ensure smooth transaction closings
For Family Law/Litigation Attorneys:
Represent clients in family law and civil litigation matters
Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
Manage case files from inception to resolution
Conduct legal research and issue discovery
Take and defend depositions
Attend hearings, mediations, and trials
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
